Beading Class!

A friend and I bought a groupon on a whim a WHILE ago for a beading class. It was about to expire, so we figured we should probably make use of it!

We started off by picking out our beads. Let me tell you, there were about a million beads at this place. It's hard to tell from the picture below, but this place was like the Costco of bead stores. Indecision was not my friend that morning. I could have walked around for an hour picking out the perfect beads.

Once we made our selections, we headed into the class. I had no idea how much went into making a necklace!

After a short introduction to all things beading, we started working on our designs. My teacher kept making suggestions for my design. I think she didn't like it, which just cracks me up. I politely told her at least three times "yeah...I like it this way." Leave it to me to be the problem student.

Once we had our designs ready, we started stringing the beads on to our wire. Then, we attached the clasp and ring to each end and we were done! Ok, I'm realizing that that last sentence made it seem way easier than it actually was. There was more involved, I promise. I'm just not enough of an expert to describe (read: I can't exactly remember what we did)

And here are the finished projects! Mine is the pinkish one.
And how cute is my friend Nikki's mint and yellow necklace? Love it.

I had plans to take a picture of how cute it was with my work outfit...too bad I managed to break mine the first time I wore it! Gosh, I am such a klutz sometimes. At least I have the skills to fix it (and all the other pieces of jewelry I'm bound to break) now :)
