Twenty Six Before Twenty Six

Is it just me, or is this year going by ridiculously fast?? Um, hello, Novemeber...Where the heck did you come from?

Last weekend I had the chance to get out and do a few things that were out of my normal routine- I went to the beach: I went to a party instead of keeping my homebody butt firmly planted on the couch; I went to a museum;. I also managed to do something nice for a stranger "just because"- and you know what? It felt really good. (Doesn't it always). I realized that I should do things like that more often. Breaking out of the normal makes life richer.

Feeling inspired by challenges like Mrs. Alana's Miscellany's 25 before 25, Joy the Baker's 30 things for 30 years and Tracy from Shutterbean's 31 comes before 32, and many others, I decided it was high time I'd start my own.

So, with only 6 months and 18 days before my 26th birthday, I am setting out to complete this list:

1.     Grow a plant and don't let it die
2.     Open an etsy shop
3.     Make our wedding album
4.     Write an old teacher a thank you note
5.     Get my recipes organized
6.     Bring treats to a neighbor
7.     Send a card to someone- just because
8.     Take one new person to church
9.     Watch the sunrise
10.   Sit. Be still. Watch a sunset
11.   Run a mile (yeah. I've never run a mile in my life. I can't believe I'm admitting this right now)
12.   Take a dance class
13.   Complete one sewing project
14.   Make a homemade beauty product
15.   Go wine tasting in Temecula
16.   Visit the San Diego Museum of Man
17.   Go to the theater
18.   Make a homemade gift
19.   Hike Torrey Pines
20.   Leave a random stranger a note on their car
21.   Memorize 3 bible verses
22.   Make a care package for a homeless person
23.   Get a facial
24.   Go to a drive in movie
25.   Fly a kite
26.   Ride a bike

So it's a combo of doing some nice things for others and getting my life together and doing some things that I've been saying I've wanted to do for YEARS.

So that's it- It's on the internet now, so that means I definitely have to do it. I'll be sure to keep you all updated. And you better give me some crap if I'm not sticking to it!
